Tobin Brinker

Age: 38

Occupation: Teacher

Education and Qualifications:

I believe San Bernardino can be a great city again. First we need to get crime under control. I support hiring forty more police officers. Operation Phoenix and the Beat plan are important first steps to STOPPING the current crime wave. To address the long term crime problem we must work with the local school districts to address the Drop Out problem. In our local school districts too many starting freshmen do not graduate four years later. We need to partner with the local school districts to solve this problem. When more cops are hired we will be able to run more truancy sweeps. We should also develop more vocational opportunities.

Second, we must focus on redevelopment to bring new businesses to the city and provide more local jobs. We should build on what works and focus on more business development around Hospitality lane in the South and Cal State in the North. The revenue created from new development will fund the revitalization of the downtown.

I have been endorsed by the San Bernardino Police Officers Association because of my plan to STOP the CRIME and BUILD the COMMUNITY.
