Tobin Brinker - Candidate Statement

Occupation: Teacher/City Councilman

Thank you for the opportunity to serve the 3rd Ward! During my first year as your City Councilman, I held many community meetings to listen to residents’ concerns and share ideas about improving our city.

Top Priority - Getting crime under control. Voted for more police officers to patrol our neighborhoods. Supported tougher measures to combat parolees and a City Youth Commission to prevent gang activity. As a Teacher, I am working closely with local schools to reduce truancy-related crime by keeping children in the classroom and off the streets. Endorsed by San Bernardino Firefighters.

Improving Our Quality of Life - Persuaded CalTrans to begin cleaning up the blight along the 10 and 215 Freeways. Supported improved park facilities for local mobilehome residents. Appointed a diverse and active team of City Commissioners to serve our Ward. Working with area businesses to bring good-paying jobs to our city.

Positive Leadership - The people of San Bernardino want results--not political infighting—at City Hall! My independent approach has earned the endorsement of Mayor Pat Morris, Councilman Neil Derry and School Board members Frank Ibarra and Ray Abril.
